Since its founding in 1882, the Egypt Exploration Society has generated enthusiasm for and increased knowledge and understanding of Egypt’s past. The Society has been at the forefront of research into Ancient Egypt and continues to raise awareness of the importance of protecting Egypt’s heritage by its publications and programme of activity.

The EES Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint a new Director to be in post from September/October 2016. We are looking for an exceptional individual who can help to shape our future and lead us into the next phase of our development: someone familiar with the culture of Ancient Egypt, preferably with a track record of work in Egypt, and who is an effective manager of people and change.

Do you believe that the heritage of Ancient Egypt is important? And that we owe it to future generations to preserve the past? Do you enjoy working with people? Can you think ahead and plan strategically? Are you financially aware? And do you thrive on challenge? If so, you may be our next Director.

Full details including a job description and person specification are available here.

The application form can be downloaded here. (An alternative version for users of older versions of MS Word in .doc format is here)

Applicants are also asked to complete a 'Monitoring and Equal Opportunities Data' form which is available for download here.

Please send your completed application forms to application@ees.ac.uk by 5pm on Friday 8 July 2016.

Interviews will be held at the Society’s London offices on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 August 2016.
