Dr Chris Naunton has decided to step down from his post as EES Director to spend more time on his own research, his media work and his role as President of the International Association of Egyptologists (IAE).
Chris started with the EES in 2001 as Librarian and Membership Secretary, became Deputy Director in 2008 and succeeded Pat Spencer as Director on 1 January 2012. He has seen, and overseen, many changes in the organisation over that time, its enhanced profile and activities over his time here being very much down to his energy and vision. He is also now a well-known and well-respected Egyptologist, having successfully completed his PhD in parallel to his work for the Society, and evidenced by his IAE election.
Chris will stay with us until the AGM in October, when we will be able to pay proper tribute to his contribution to the Society and to wish him continued success in the future.
The Board has already begun the search for a new Director.
