The Egypt Exploration Society is delighted to announce that it will again be providing English language courses to Egyptian archaeologists and Egyptologists in 2017 thanks to the generosity of our colleagues at the British Council, Egypt.
We will be offering ten places for courses provided by the Council during three months from 26 February 2017. Four of these places will be restricted to employees of the Ministry of Antiquities but the others will be open to all.
The courses will be held in the premises of the British Council in Agouza, Cairo. The successful candidates will be required to undergo a test to determine their current level of competence so that they can be assigned to the appropriate course. The test can be taken at either the Agouza or Heliopolis branches of the Council.
HOW TO APPLY:
Our intention is to award the places in open competition to those whose work in archaeology or Egyptology would benefit most from an improvement of their English language skills. Applicants should download and complete the form here and return it with a letter of recommendation from their director or supervisor by e-mail to EES.Cairo@britishcouncil.org.eg.
The closing date for applications is 1 pm (Cairo time) on Monday 20 February 2017. No application received after that date will be considered. Interviews, if necessary, will be held in Cairo; applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
Conditions:
• Applicants must be Egyptian nationals.
• The chance to attend the courses will not be given more than once to the same person.
All enquiries should be addressed to EES.Cairo@britishcouncil.org.eg
