#myEESpic - We need your help...

Egypt is very striking place, visually. Ancient Egypt was a very visual culture. And photography is an essential part of the recording process for archaeologists and Egyptologists. We at the EES have an archive of many thousands of photographs taken in Egypt, and we are adding thousands more every year.

We’re currently in the process of overhauling the look and feel of the things you see and read online and in print, and wondering which images would best represent the EES in the 21st Century.

And we’d like your help.

We know many of you will have taken your own photos of Egypt and we’d like you to send us the ones (maximum 3 please!) that you think best represent the Society and its work. A few thoughts to try to capture in what you send:

The ideal picture should say 'Egypt'....

It should say 'Exploration'...

And it should say 'Society' (i.e. the people who make up our organisation)...

A few more examples are here

Please send your pictures to us by e-mail to myeespic@ees.ac.uk or post them online to Twitter or Facebook; in that case please make sure you mention us - @TheEES – and the hash tag #myEESpic. If you can please add a few words to explain why you think your photo is just right for us.

We will be sharing the best ones online and any really special images may be used as part of the new designs for our website etc…

We look forward to hearing from you!
