That time of the year...

...pre-Christmas time, that is - the few weeks of meeting your last work deadlines and the office party, of having a mulled wine at your local Christmas market and going through your presents list.

Which brings me straight to our publications programme this year, which has seen a few highlights that will make for nice stocking fillers:

David O'Connor's Old Kingdom Town at Buhen, of course, was a long-awaited volume, finally making available the reports on the brief but important excavations at this now inaccessible site.

Back by popular demand is another title, Who Was Who in Egyptology, the standard dictionary on the scholars, explorers and collectors who have shaped the discipline. It is again available at a very budget-friendly £25 for members or £35 for non-members.

And finally, we're already looking forward to the centenary of the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology. Its 100th volume will be available from late January 2015, and where the foreword will look back at its distinguished history, the articles will span the time to the present with reports on current fieldwork at Amarna, Thebes and the Delta. For a full list of the contents please see here. Why not give an EES gift membership with a JEA subscription add-on?

Apart from these, our online bookshop (and indeed our brick-and-mortar bookshop at our offices, too) are great places to browse for Excavation Memoirs, back issues of JEA and EA, and second-hand books on all things Egyptological.
