Sylvie Weens was Assistant Secretary in the EES London Office from 1989 to 1997. She now lives in Cairo and teaches English at the Lycée Francais du Caire but has retained her interest in ancient Egypt and the Society, first inspired by her masters’ degree about Amelia Edwards, at Lille University. During a visit to London in April 2012, as part of a project Sylvie was running for her students, she filmed at both the EES London Office and the Petrie Museum, and interviewed Patricia Spencer about the EES and its current work in Egypt. The footage, together with stills, has been turned into a short film Ancient Egypt in London; Off the Beaten Tracks (about 15 minutes long) by Sylvie’s students and can be viewed at: www.radiolfc.net/
